About your presenter:
Peter Vogt is the director of internal communication for eBay Inc., responsible for connecting and communicating with the company’s 11,000 employees around the world. He has developed innovative communication programs and processes that drive understanding and commitment to the Purpose and focus of the company.
Prior to joining eBay, Peter was director of internal communication for Microsoft, where he oversaw the development of global web casts for company chairman Bill Gates and CEO Steve Ballmer. He also led all internal communication around the company’s unprecedented dividend payout that was the largest in the history of capitalism.
Before returning to the corporate world, Peter was the Asia/Pacific Divisional Practice Leader for Watson Wyatt’s Communication Practice and previously the Managing Director of the Ragan Consulting Group, a measurement-driven communication consulting organization. As a consultant, Peter worked closely with clients around issues of mergers, diversity and creating great places to work. His work with Wegmans Food Markets was credited by company leaders as assisting their ascent to the top of Fortune’s Best Places to Work list. His other clients included American Century Investments, Baxter, Delta Airlines, Genentech, Harvard University and IBM EMEA.
During his career, Peter has received many awards for his work in employee communication, including the International Association of Business Communicators Gold Quill, The Creativity in Public Relations Award, the Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil and was a PR Week Award nominee for best international communication program. He speaks and writes frequently on the topic of internal communication, and has delivered workshops on measurement, change management, diversity, internal branding and the integration of print and electronic communication.
Peter is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the Council for Communication Management. He has a B.A. degree in journalism with a minor in French and international political science from Marquette University.
